Basking in euphoria of his birthday the OPC reformed leader, Dare Adesope has stated why his group OPC Reformed did not partake in the past nation wide protest and also stated that his association will not also partake in any subsequent ones , not until 6 months from now
" in as much as we know the trauma and economic hardship that the country is going through, we are not in support of any protests either the immediate past one or the proposed one for October, the reason been that, the protest is always been hidjacked by hoodlums who used the opportunity to steal and robbed citizens. Imagine people looting another person shop all in the name of protest ? And another thing is the way people destroy government property, forgetting that the government will use money that is supposed to be used for the development to repair the damaged properties, this and many things is what we at OPC Reformed are looking at , we don't just join protest anyhow. If you observed our own type of protest , we only carry placards, sing and move without destroying anything.
Though we are also watching the event as it's unfolding. We will give president Tinubu just 6 months from now , to effect changes if not I personally we lead the protest against him
Though it's very easy to destroy than to build, we all know that Nigeria economy has been destroyed before now and it will take a lot to build it. It's very easy to destroy than to build"
On his advice to Tinubu government, Ambassador Dare Adesope stated that the Tinubu government
should open the border "Because we need to be allowing things we don't have in abundance to be coming in. Government need to open the border to allow importation of rice and other stuff that people need , for now I think government need to open boarder for importation
it always pained me because I never expected it will take this long before the changes will be effective.
But we want to give the president element of doubt for 6 months to amend things if there is no changes then I personally we lead the protest against his government. Though I do tell people who always tell or let me say mock me that " see your emi lokan ," I do tell the them that it's not easy to repair unlike how to destroy."
Adesope who in spirit of his birthday celebration gives out cash prizes to many of his members in all Yoruba speaking nation including Abuja
" it's my own way of rewarding my members some of them loose their job in the course of this OPC Reformed, some we are even homeless. So there's nothing big that I do for them that is big to appreciate them "
He also spoke on his security mission for Yoruba land
"my security mission for Yoruba land is not to have any fence in any building, I want a Yoruba land that anyone can just pack his or car outside his or her compound and go to sleep soundly"
On the aspect of some Yoruba loosing their respect before their subject, he said
"Some obas has the government, because government did not allow tradition or culture to take it's course before they choose obas, they endorsed those that are doing yes sir, yes sir for them, and until the people who are involved invite us to come to their rescue we will not intervene "
