Maxfem International School Ijagba, Ogun State press Club held it's day amidst fanfare

For members of the   press Club , of  Maxfem International School Ijagba round about Obasanjo Ogun State Thursday, 7th November 2024 will forever be engraved  and enclosed with nostalgia and memories as the club held their day amidst glamour mixed with paparazzi in the presence of others students who witnessed the curtain raiser of any club activities in the school

In the event which was held inside the school hall under  the chair person of the School Director and the wife of the proprietor, Mrs. Yetunde Oguntola, the program kicked off  with opening prayers, which was followed by the club anthem . Thereafter, the audience were told and educated  about the meaning of press and journalism,  and how to make career out of journalism. This segment  was dully reported by:  Moridiyat Azeez. The introduction of the contestants from the participating invited clubs were to followed which Oreoluwa Oluwasegun did justice to. The event also have the school principal, Mr Sunday Adebare and other teaching  and non teaching staff in attendance 

Home makers club represented by tag team of the Senior Boy of the school, Musa Oyekan and  Usman Hawau     went home with the winners gold medal. They got better of their counterpart from Jet Club. The jet Club were represented by Senior Girl, Oreoluwa and Adewale Emmanuel 

In his opening speech , the chief coordinator of Press Club who also doubles as General Editor, Mr Murphy Ajibade Alabi stated the importance of the event " The most important thing about this get together event is for us to dish out information which to some of us are exclusive while to other it's well known. But all the same we want to share current affairs news  with our colleagues from other clubs. So  whoever wins should not see the other as been weak , it's going to be no victor no vanguished . we are not here to arrange platform for clubs to flex muscle but rather to educate ourselves. We also want to use this medium to thank the school management for approving this event, and also for their financial aid . We want to believe it's not going to be the last of such . Also we are throwing the gaullets to other clubs to emmunate this event so we could all have a  healthy rivalry "

In her own speech the school director, Mrs Yetunde Oguntola promised on behalf of the management to continue supporting the club

The club assistant coordinator who also doubles as Deputy Editor, Mr Victor also emphasized the need for students to embrace reading as one of their culture

" The students will learnt a lot if they cultivate the  habits of reading, especially books and newspapers this will increased their knowledge and their scope in English Language"

For Press Club members it was a mission fulfilled.
