In a speech delivered on his behalf by comrade Ajibade Alabi, the Media Director, Omolaja Campaigns Organization, Alhaji (Chief, Ambassador) Muhammad Omolaja – a presidential aspirant - who is a prominent member of the Yoruba Council of Elders (YCE) and President of the Yoruba Elders’ Union (YEU) said “Coming with the New Year is always a cause for celebration, for spending time with friends and family, and for reflection on the past year, for the purpose of possible adjustment”. Quoting him further, he said, “A lot can happen in the course of a year including the good, the bad, and the ugly. As glasses are raised up and fireworks explode into the sky, it is important to appreciate the special symbolism that accompanies a New Year celebration.”
Prof.(Dr.) Omolaja confirmed that during the year 2025, his political family, National Liberation Patriots (NLP), with 12,000 members across Nigeria achieved a number of significant milestones as they made a tremendous difference to millions of Nigerians on daily basis as reported on their WhatsApp platforms from time to time at all levels, and also through the various media. He said that their membership continued to grow in number, strength and quality steadily during the year, and it was expected to continue skyrocketing in a geometrical progression across the 36 States of the federation as well as the Federal Capital Territory of Abuja in this New Year 2026 and beyond!
Prof. Omolaja said NLP is interested in making their family an empire for all Nigerians of ages 18 years and above, who would be ready, willing and able to follow their ideology and philosophy of politics and governance irrespective of sex, religion, ethnicity, profession or political Parties’ Affiliation, will also be sustained during the New Year 2026 and beyond. “The best manifestation of our accomplishment during the year 2025 was our resolve for improvement in our mechanisms and determination to create the modern renewed and rebranded Nigeria of our dreams by upholding and proclamation of the doctrines of brotherliness, patriotism and nationalism.” He said.
Prof. Omolaja advocated that in this year 2026, every Nigerian should radiate love and care to one another, to forgive mistakes and offenses, to hug, and to warm with care and attention. Changes for the better should happen to every person and every family in the country. Every Nigerian should be healthy, and new children should be born to make Nigerians happy and to make the country greater. Nigerians should learn from the past, live for the present and hope for the future. Our New Year Resolution include the fact that “we will always be there for one another as fellow members of the NLP family, fellow patriotic Nigeria citizens, and humanity.” Omolaja used the occasion to advise on religious tolerance, forgiveness, better understanding and harmonious relationships, peace, love as well as unity and brotherliness among the great people of the federal Republic of Nigeria.
